ABOUT

Who We Are

Theatre is a mirror.

Born on the unceded lands of the Wathaurong People of the Kulin Nation, Overflow Theatre Company is an independent performing arts collective led by Artistic Director Molly England producing and performing new and classic works that speak to the dynamic world we live in.

Overflow is dedicated to creating opportunity and accessibility for early-career artists at all levels to engage with the practice of creating theatre in a collaborative capacity.

We desire connection and opportunity to engage our community with different practices, works and artists.

We believe as artists we are responsible for instilling sustainable physical, environmental, mental, and cultural practices.

ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

MOLLY ENGLAND

Born & bred in Djilang, Molly is a performer, writer & director passionate about theatre. She has keen interest in exploring the ways in which our creativity can be translated onto stage to create impactful, artistically driven explorations into the human experience.

Overflow came from a desire to see new, exploratory interpretations of theatre in Geelong. Overflow is a place of meeting, creating and collaborating. The theatre industry can feel like a closed circuit, at times inaccessible. We're here to throw the door wide open, offering opportunities to early career artists to gain experience and engage with like-minded individuals.

Theatre should be accessible for everyone. As the oldest art form, telling stories and oral tradition keeps us connected to one another. It reminds us of our humanity, the ephemerality and unpredictability, and most important - the incandescent joy of being alive.

Overflow is a big kitchen table in an homey farmhouse. It's covered in paint, coffee rings, sketches and memories of family and love. There will always be a place for you at that table.

Welcome to the Overflow.

"You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows."
